Oka Na Ube (Corn and Pear) - Package Design

Vision

When people migrate from their state/country of origin to another, give birth to children and don't teach them the language/traditions of where they came from, we slowly lose our roots.

Oka Na Ube is a brand the seeks to build a bridge for those who want to learn about the Igbo culture. It is for those who recognize their ancestry and want to touch it, feel it, eat it, wear it and speak it like their forefathers did.

So we have taken the first step with food and language, by bringing you:
       > Original Double Wahala (corn and pear)
       > Double Wahala With Butter (pear and corn smeared with butter)

Because we refuse to lose sight of our mission, every box of Oka Na Ube has a lesson at the back that teaches you how to speak in Igbo, teaches you about notable figures in Igbo land, different Igbo festivals, diverse traditions and why they existed, etc.

Oka Na Ube goes beyond the food we eat. It is a celebration of culture and life.

Rationale

I drew inspiration for the symbols from Nsibidi (the old system of communication of the Igbo people).
